List Type:
The Simpsons (1989)
~ The longest running show EVER! (at 24 seasons) is very much a satire on the American middle class. Though I don't know whether this is the reason it's number one on this list.
Vix's rating:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)
~ One of the top cult shows? Yes. Number two on Empire's list...not so much. Don't get me wrong, I love BtVS but it's strongest seasons were 1 - 3
Vix's rating:
The Sopranos (1999)
~ Everyone except me has watched this show and they say it's great (except for the series finale) so I can't judge where it belongs on this list.
The West Wing (1999)
~ The first few seasons were great but then everything started getting monotonous.
Vix's rating:
Friends (1994)
~ This remains one of my favorite series, even if it did suffer towards the end.
Vix's rating:
~ This is my favorite show ever so I would have placed it higher.
Vix's rating:
Heroes (2006)
~ A really good first season followed by not-so-good and down right bad seasons is no reason for this show to be on any "greatest" list.
Vix's rating:
~ I haven't seen this cult show so I can't comment where it should be on the list.
The Office (UK) (2001)
~ As much as I like Ricky Gervais, Martin Freeman et al, I don't have any desire to watch this show.
~ For seasons 1 to 5, this is one of the best procedurals.
Vix's rating:
Alias (2001)
~ Seasons 1 and 2 were fantastic. Season 3 fizzled and then things got weird.
Vix's rating:
~ I don't understand why ST:TNG is so low on this list. I would have put it in the top 10.
Vix's rating:
Empire magazine's collection of the 50 greatest tv shows of all time
This list is very 1990s to 2000s centric so I don't think that tag lines "greatest" and "all time" are valid.
Though it was voted on by Empire mag's readers...
