Diving in Football
It's gotten to the point where even the ref is getting in on the act. Sometimes I'm wondering if they are self-aware and not oblivious to their surroundings, least of all the camera. It seems their impulse to cheat can override their inhibitions and faculties. If even great players like Zidane can ruin his stroke of glory in one single moment of madness, it could happen to anyone. Sometimes the game just does things to you. Therefore it's safe to say that diving carries an even bigger negative influence on football than Luis Suarez's bite. You're literally branded a devil's incarnate right off the bat with actual consequences to face just for feeling peckish towards a player at some point. On the other hand since diving is so prevalent with little punitive measures in place to combat it, diving is basically part and parcel of the game.
