Wild Arms 5 - PlayStation 2
Very unique. A series of scifi wild west JRPGs with puzzles and, in some iterations, platforming.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia - Nintendo DS
Castlevania, the biggest Dracula-based gaming franchise. One of the gaming icons that has had the most longevity. It's so sad the demise of Konami the gaming company. Not even the existence of a Netflix animated series could make Castlevania rise from the grave (pun intended). Not even compilations we got!
Banjo-Tooie - Nintendo 64
Unrivaled collect-a-thon, even now, almost two decades after its release. Still loved by those who played it.

Silent Hill 4: The Room - PlayStation 2
It's such a unique survival horror franchise that's hard to describe, based more on psychological aspects of the horror, it speaks of the otherworld that exists within the city of Silent Hill. Another one of Konami's abandonments.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance - PlayStation 2
Such rich and unique lore and such an acclaimed series, only to be abandoned like this!
Mega Man 8 (PAL) - PlayStation
The icon that helped make Capcom, still loved by his fans, despite his mistreatment.
The Legend of Oasis - Sega Saturn
I think we could use an arabian themed mixture of RPG and beat 'em up with Zelda-esque features.
Parasite Eve II - PlayStation
It would be fresh to have an action RPG set in the contemporary world, with guns and themed around biology.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time - PlayStation 3
Mixture of mascot 3D platforming with stealth action made it stand from the crowd. And then they added sandbox elements that set it even more apart.
Shadow Hearts: From the New World - PlayStation 2
It's just too bad the team of devs was closed, many of them left the company and the company now focuses on pachinko or something like that, whilst still owning the IP. Meaning we'll never get another SH unless it's a spiritual successor, but since the devs got dispersed, there's no momentum to do that. It was very unique, with the judgment ring mechanic, historical fiction, comedy, supernatural and each character having a customization system of its own.
Here are some gaming franchises that were forgotten and/or abandoned by their makers and that I think still could be worth today. Only franchises that had at least two games (thus becoming actually franchises and not standalones) that didn't have games and are, so far, abandoned.
