A documentary/cartoon/political criticism of the 80s Israeli - Palestinian conflict. Interestingly, the events depicted in the film inspired the current wave of Muslim extremist movements, so it is very relevant to today's politics as well.

Hunger (2008)
History is always written by the victors. However, in Hunger, we actually got the ugly, unpleasant details about an IRA big shot in prison, meaning he was obviously on the losing side. The film reminded me that there is no "good" side in any conflict - only a winning side.

Top what? I decided to list all the 9 and 10 star rated movies (based on my own ratings) of each year instead of trying to make a list of exactly 10. Some years may have 1 and some may have 20 in the list. It depends on the amount of good movies I saw from that year - but even more it hopefully reflects the amount of decent movies that were actually made in a particular year.
