George Wallace

George Wallace was a racist American politician who served as the 45th governor of Alabama for four terms. Wallace is best remembered for his staunch segregationist and populist views. He opposed desegregation and supported the policies of "Jim Crow" during the Civil Rights Movement, declaring in his 1963 inaugural address that he stood for "segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever". Wallace also served in the United States Army Air Corps as a B-29 flight engineer with the 468th Bombardment Group during World War II, taking part in air raids on Japan.
