As the cover of the game tells, one of the main characteristics of this game is that it possesses two types of levels with two different gameplays; Sonic's levels, where the objective is to surpass various challenges in a way that the player can maintain a high speed at most of the time (all of this in a linear path), and Sonic-in-a-werehog-form kind of levels (incorrect term by the way as were means man but whatever...), that consists more of a beat 'em up kind of gameplay, with some platforming touches and a much slower pacing. The main critique that this game usually receives is that having these two playstyles is simply unnecessary and it would have been better to just have the game be all about Sonic in his normal form.
