This DVD set brings together the entire first season run of Shark, and there’s plenty to enjoy. Woods may have changed sides in the show, but his methods are as unconventional as ever (think House, but in the legal system, and you’re on the right track). As a result, the show is fast, funny, and terrific entertainment.

And let’s make no bones about this: as commendable as Shark’s supporting cast is, it’s Woods we’re here to see, and he doesn’t disappoint. He positively eats up the screen, and it’s an absolute delight to see an actor as strong as him at the very top of his game.

Tightly scripted, swiftly directed and rarely dull, Shark is a treat that’s well worth taking for a spin. Highly recommended. --Jon Foster
