Guest stars include Nada Surf ("Return of the Future") and season two favourites Fall Out Boy ("An Attempt to Tip the Scales"), while recurring characters include Peyton's birth mother Ellie (Sheryl Lee, who was Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks), and smug singer/songwriter Chris (Tyler Hilton, who plays Elvis Presley in Walk The Line), with whom Haley collaborates again. As in the previous year, the finale ("The Show Must Go On") is a cliffhanger.
