As Fullmetal Alchemist builds to its climax, director Seiji Mizushima and screenwriter Shou Aikawa ratchet up the emotional intensity. Ed and Al learn two terrible lessons. The first is that any deed, however well-intended, can have dire consequences--including Ed's efforts to free the people of Liore from a false prophet in the first episodes of the series.
