Netflix Instant Project for 2015

That's right, I'm keeping this project going into another year. It's been such fun these past two years sharing films with my fellow Listalites that I'm not willing to give it up.
For the uninitiated, here's the skinny: The idea is to recommend lesser-known films that you've watched & enjoyed which are available on Netflix's Instant Watch streaming service.
Rules:
1. Each month drop by this thread and recommend two (2) movies that are streaming on Netflix.
2. All films recommended must have been seen and/or rated by no more than 300 Listal users. (Check the film's Listal page & look at the number in the blue box over the word "Ratings")
3. In addition to the two (2) films you can recommend each month, if you have seen a film someone else has recommended you can throw your support behind it. There is no limit to the number of films you can support, provided they have all been recommended by others.
4. Do not recommend any films not available on Netflix Instant Watch.
5. Please provide links to the Listal pages for the movies you recommend, so we can be sure to watch the right ones (especially important for movies that have been remade).
6. Watch the films others recommend, then let us know what you think of them by coming back & supporting the ones you like!
NOTE: Recommendations & supported films do NOT have to be submitted at the same time.
The list is here, and this year I'm bringing back the inclusion of links to lists for anything that's watched after being recommended. And for those who have participated before, it's a new year so you're welcome to recommend something from the past if you want to.
OK, here we go...
Recommendations for January:
The Good, the Bad, the Weird
Shadow of the Vampire

Recommendations for January:
The Young Girls of Rochefort - www.listal.com/movie/young-girls-rochefort
I saw five movies last year that I gave five stars to. Three of them were rewatches. This was one of the two I saw for the first time. I saw over 300 movies last year. That should say something about how easily I give out that five star rating. It's a god damn masterpiece.
The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears - www.listal.com/movie/strange-colour-your-bodys-tears
A giallo-homage that sure is pretty to look at. I haven't quite finished it yet due to reasons, but it's worth your time.
Throwing my support behind:
Shadow of the Vampire
I'd like to throw one out to Dark Skies but I just really didn't like that movie enough. It's duuuumb.

So far so good. I'd like to get one more person's recommendations before I post the list. Anyone else?
@VT - The Strange Color of Your Body's Tears caught my curiosity while browsing Netflix when I saw the title. So thanks for encouraging me toward it.

Recommendations for January:
The Trip: A mild but pleasant British comedy, if you enjoy Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon you will get some laughs. I expected to be bored but it has some really good moments.
AiWeiWei: Never Sorry: Neat documentary on a noteable contemporary Chinese artist and a small look at the struggles he has with the Chinese government over issues of censorship and human rights.
Happy 2015 everyone! I'm so glad I still have my list of possible suggestions for this thread all the way back from 2013, I am really behind on films. Can't wait to watch some of these, The Strange Colors of Your Body's Tears and The Good The Bad and the Weird have been sitting on my to-watch list for a while.

Recommendations for January:
Grave Encounters
Found footage mockumentary of a "ghost hunters" crew, horror/mystery
Dead End
Decent horror, sometimes comedic, with some severe 90s vibes. Also with a somewhat unique setting for an entire horror movie (a car)
Throwing my support behind:
Shadow of the vampire
Classic, fascinating "history" lesson
Dark skies
Decent, a better attempt then most on the same theme
The Imposter
This is a great movie/documentary, engages more then most regular documentaries.

Hey guys I missed the 2014 project, I didn't have Netflix and I wasn't very active on listal either. Well joined back up with Netflix and really enjoyed doing this instant project in 2013 you guys seem to pick a lot of cool movies that I might not otherwise watch. So I think I'll join you guys this year.

I love Short Term 12. One of my favorites of the year. In a World... is good albeit not quite deserving of the fairly high rating I gave it when I saw it. It's veeeery indie quirky smirky and requires you to prod yourself a bit about how much of that you want in your life.

Recommendations for February:
Horns - www.listal.com/movie/horns
The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014) - www.listal.com/movie/town-dreaded-sundown
Horns is one of my favorite films of last year. Alexandre Aja makes a fantasy horror movie that feels like it's set in a pseudo-realistic modernization of Twin Peaks and it's flippin' spectacular. The Town that Dreaded Sundown... if you've seen the original, you need to watch it and not read up on it before. The way this goes about being a remake or a reboot or a sequel is really special and feels like commentary on the boom of such films being out there.
Throwing my support behind:
Chef
Frank
I like Frank. Chef is... veeery dependent on how much leeway you're willing to give a film for basically having no significant content but instead pull your very primitive strings of what warrants a positive emotional response and all that.

You guys have recommended some damn good movies this month. I loved both Horns and Chef they couldn't be more different but both are great movies. I think you perfectly described Horns Vieras when you said it's like it was set in a pseudo-realistic modernization of Twin Peaks that's definitely how it felt. As far as Chef goes it was just such a charming and feel-good movie I really enjoyed it. The Town That Dreaded Sundown wasn't as good as the first two but it was still a pleasent surprise. I thought it was going to be another crappy horror flick but it was actually a tense and effective slasher film that was worth seeing. Well looks like I'll be watching Joe next

Recommendations for March:
Earth to Echo - www.listal.com/movie/earth-to-echo
A Spielbergian sci-fi action movie set in the suburbs. The shaky cam is a bore but this movie has a lot of heart. A fun nostalgia trip.
Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa - www.listal.com/movie/alan-partridge-the-movie
This is one of the funniest films you'll watch this year. So do that.
PS. Josรฉ Padilha's excellent RoboCop is on Instant too. I highly recommend it for anyone in to body horror. Sadly it has over 300 ratings so it doesn't qualify for this project.

I'll ponder the RoboCop remake, but honestly I doubt it's as worth watching as the original. The trailers sure didn't sell me on it.

Been catching up on some tv shows, haven't been able to watch that many movies. Although I did see RoboCop and it could have been great but the studio clearly neutered it. Apparently Director Jose Padilha and star Joel Kinneman pushed hard for a beefed up R rating, but the studio didn't budge. It's a shame really.

I don't think that the weaknesses of the RoboCop-remake have anything to do with it not being a particularly violent film. I think it's even funnier that it isn't since there are actual contextual reasons for that. And when it does bring out the gross shit, eg. the whole body horror portions of it, it works great. Anyhow:

Recommendations for April:
Bound - www.listal.com/movie/bound
This is probably the tightest fit to this project ever thus far with 296 ratings. Anyhow, this is a Wachowski-flick and it's better than anything they've done after it. A hell of a neo-noir.
Life Itself - www.listal.com/movie/life-itself-2014
A darn good documentary on Roger Ebert by the director of Hoop Dreams. I wrote about it extensively on my film journal so check that out if your heart so desires.

Only able to get one rec in before the end of the month, but this one really impressed me quite a bit. Very similar setting as The Rover, but with more of an 80's sci-fi feel to it.

The Babadook - www.listal.com/movie/the-babadook
Even though it isn't necessarily all that scary, this movie has that psychological bite of something like Rosemary's Baby. It has staying power, and even when the ending is a bit of a flat fart, the overall experience is real interesting.
Preservation - www.listal.com/movie/preservation
This is a home invasion movie except in the woods instead of a home. The final shot is killer and it's a darn tight thing overall too.
