"Woody Harrelson perfectly embodies bitterness and brokenness in one of those movies in which the protagonist is far more interesting than the circumstances that befall him and than the secondary characters he interacts with. (It should especially be noted that director Oren Moverman did wonders exploiting Samantha Morton's talents in her supporting role in The Messenger, and the fact that he didn't take the same opportunity with Anne Heche here is kind of disappointing.) "
