This statue of an American minuteman was created by the English-American sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson in 1900. Initially, it represented the common minuteman, but now people say that it represents captain John Parker who commanded the minutemen during the Battle of Lexington in 1775. There are no preserved images of Parker.
