2012 Sets In, What Improvements Desired in Listal?

Well Listal is doing great guns for quite sometime. Lets share what further improvents, one like to see have more FUN and INFORMATION here.

#1 - More platforms

#2 - A "Currently watching/reading/playing/etc. user status

#3 - Ability to follow lists and the like

Righto, I agree to your suggestions, pumpkinate.

I think site speed can be an issue sometimes. I use this site at home and work and so far I've noticed it slows down about 25% of time. Example; it can take up to 10 seconds to just have my rating show after I click on it. Can be frustrating sometimes.

Would be cool to "favorite" your fav lists.

Definitely down with #2 & #3 from what PK said. I'm content with the platforms we currently have, but if something new comes up I'll check it out. I'd love it if we could get updates in our feeds whenever someone comments back to me on a list or forum thread I didn't create (not that I've created many forum threads, but still).

Being able to favorite lists would be nice too, since at this point I've got a bookmark folder devoted to mine. One of these days I intend to turn them into a proper list. :P

I'd still love it if various editions of books could be captured under their titles, rather than having to sift through (in some cases) a slew of editions to figure out which one I own. Maybe the variants could be chosen under a new field in the "Edit my info" section or elsewhere on a main book page. If that could be worked out, the same could be done for albums & DVDs too perhaps.

The forums could use with a bit of an upgrade.

1. Being able to follow a topic and go to the last posted message in that thread.
2. A Bit of Ownership of some of the more popular threads.
"What are you watching" is a great thread but trying to find the last post is beyond my attention level. So, having someone re-create that thread each month and then close it and the end of the month would be very cool.

I think buddy press is similar but groups/private groups/thread following/featured threads... I think would all fit on my list of *would love to see but doubtful*. Not because I don't think it can be done it would be more of an issue of possibly going beyond the scope of 'the vision of Listal"

4. I would like to see the search function go back to what it was before... this is just me. I liked being able to see several columns of movies and not just one. Now the right side is just filled with, tags and lists... not searching for a list so... a bit odd. Also seems to eat up a lot of space. I know this got changed ages ago but... I'm old fashioned.

5. Please let me be able to delete a thread that I created without having to beg one of the Moderators to do it for me.

6. Ah... Mr "Deleted User" who posts so many images. I say that after a few months these images get placed under a dummy account. "System Images" or "Image Vault", "System Storage". With the current image point system the account would never have a very high ranking. Personally, I think it would look better... right now it gives the impression that someone got really pissed off and deleted their account.

Very nice suggestions coming up, we hope to see them implemented, soon.

Oh, the search function seems a bit wonky sometimes. If I spell something wrong by one letter, or forget an apostrophe, sometimes nothing comes up at all. Maybe if that gets refined? But it's pretty minor.

And I especially like jaytoast's #1 and #6 suggestions, going to the last post of a thread and moving images from Deleted User.

Definitely down with 1, 2 & 6 of jaytoast's suggestions. I'd love to see the forums upgraded...might bring more users into them too.

Also a thought occurred to me just now...I'd like to see a "Not Interested" button for the films I have no interest in seeing & never will. And if it could drop such films out of any searches I do, that'd be nice too. ;)

Ah, after thinking about my proposed improvement #6. That wouldn't work. Moving images into any type of official or semi-official Listal account would make Listal more liable for the image contained in that account.

Love pumpkinate's suggestions. I think #2 is awesome and a great social media aspect for the site. I would use that function to specifically say what I'm working on at the moment on Listal and let anyone who visits my profile know that, not just the ones that follow me. Following lists is a great idea for the evolving list.

One improvement I would like to see is to be able to personally tag an individual images and be able to search by your tag. Say, I'll use the most basic example here, tagging a Victoria's Secret image with VS so when you search within a gallery you find it right away. It would make it a lot easier to find the image you're looking for when you're going through a gallery with 10,000 images. I don't know how possible it is but that is my suggestion and I'm sticking to it :)

Giraffe love the "not interested" idea. Mackenzi I also hate the search feature especially since it remembers what you already typed in so if you mess up once it's there for a while. I keep clicking on it without thinking. Jay Toasts #5 is a great idea as well.

Ability to quote on the forums.
Abillity to see which is the last answetr on the forums without enter, and could have a notificacion when someone anwers in a topic you started.

I supplement my Ytube list limit here. Maybe this is best solved with a browser addon though. Add a special paste to right click?

A better database of HTML codes (sorry I only remember the basics). I know there was a thread out there with helpful hint, but I lost the bookmark.
