A truly great single disc collection chronicling the best of America’s favorite “tacky dance band from Georgia,” as they have labeled themselves over the years. There doesn’t seem to be anything major missing, although there’s not enough Whammy! for my taste. No room for “Legal Tender” or “Whammy Kiss”? Description: Taken in one concentrated best-of dose, it becomes evident what a coup the B-52's pulled off when they turned their own concentrated craziness into genuine hits. This is some of the weirdest stuff ever to make the charts, much less be loved by the masses. I suppose a bit more Bouncing Off the Satellites like “Wig” or “Girl from Ipanema Goes to Greenland” wouldn’t be out-of-place, either. But Time Capsule is still unbelievably strong even without these songs.   This adheres to their longstanding place in the pop lexicon as an alternative pop band for the masses.
