Dull

Coldplay have largely abandoned the guitar led approach of their first three albums. It might have been a good move to acquire a more diverse sound if only large stretches of the resulting album weren't so dull. There's still a handful of decent songs and a couple of really good ones but the whole album doesn't hang together.

Description: To say there has been a lot of anticipation for Coldplay’s fourth album, Viva La Vida, is an understatement. Having enlisted legendary leftfield producer Brian Eno, borrowed their album title from a painting by renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and made tantalising remarks about sonic reinvention, the world has been curious (to say the least) to hear what the ‘new’ Coldplay might sound like. My favourite Coldplay songs (7 music items)

"8/10 Here it presents "Revolutionary Coldplay". I feel like this album is the maximum expression of what life is truly about: To seize the day and make new experiences and love and enjoy life as it is. It is relaxing, lively and artistically mind blowing. Another checkmate from Coldplay. Oh long live the king! Favourite songs: Viva la Vida Lost! Yes / Chinese Sleep Chant Violet Hill 42 Strawberry Swing The Escapist (my alarm awakening song)"
