What we already Knew...

A sweet yet heartbreaking story that is sadly too common. While the story is predictable the performances are realistic, especially Onata Aprile as Maisie. And, possibly for the first time ever Julianne Moore did a good job, mainly because she was perfectly cast as a very unlikable mother.

An average movie

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie but since the ratings were pretty good, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, it turned out to be some kind of really f*ckep-up and mean-spirited version of 'Kramer vs Kramer' told from the point of view of the child. Basically, it was so sad and depressing, the whole thing was almost unbearable to watch. I mean, first, you had the mother who was a total disaster. I don't want to blame Julianne Moore as she gave as usual a solid performance but this character was awful with not one single redeeming feature. Concerning the father, he was slightly better but only slightly better as he turned out to be a major dick as well. Eventually, both of them just kept dumping their daughter whenever they felt like it and, to make things worse, this sweet little girl was just so cute, it was just awful to behold. Still, even though this story was told from this little girl's point of view, you never really get the chance to know her and you are only allowed to feel sorry for her. To conclude, it wasn't bad, it was actually well made with some decent performances but this story was just so mean and filled up with some of the most unlikeable characters I have seen for a very long time and, as a result, I really had a hard time to connect with the damned thing. At least, if you think you are a shitty parent, this movie will show you that it could be 10 times worse.

Sometime anybody is old enough to make a dicision

The movie was based on the century old novel but this adaptation set in modern-day New York City. It was perfectly transformed from 100 years old culture and lifestyle to present era.

It tells the story of a little girl called Maisie who notices his parents' irresponsible behavior towards her which leads to make her own decision for the future of her own. The kid was so adorable and her splendid performance made the movie one of a best adoption and justice to the book though I haven't read it.

At first glance I thought the character Lincoln was a pervert because I was not aware of the tale what it's all about but later turned out one of the unique and best story. And same goes to the character Margo as well. It was not your usual drama, it was about a kid whose life slowly falling apart because of her parents inadvertence. Her bravery like an adult makes key to the bright future. It was a nice movie about parenting errors, this kinda stuffs happening everywhere in the world, hope this movie will be an eye opener of the parents like the kid from this movie. As per the entertainment it was a little draggy other than that it was a absolutely important message tale.
