BradWesley123's Movie Journal- July 2016 (38 movies items)

" Amazon Prime- 1hr 43min. First Viewing The Program tries to cover too much ground, with too little focus. Ben Foster is strong in the lead role, but the there are just too many moving parts around him. The cast is quite strong, but they end up taking up too much time; Foster's coldly unsympathetic performance deserved more time to shine, and more dimension. It's often involving, but it could've been more. "

Watched in 2016: Movies (300 movies items)

"2016 Wow, what a disappointment. Frears has lost it. First, he needs to lose his editor. The editing was horrible. It made the very good cast look like amateurs. Most scenes were awkward within and the pacing of the whole film was bad. Thankfully Ben Foster still nails it, portraying an asshole Armstrong. Foster always has a weird, off-putting presence and it really works here. I'm sure Armstrong loathed it. As far as the story, it was very uninvolved. We are just watching what happens"

A good movie

“Even though this movie didn’t make much waves when it was released, since it sounded quite intriguing, I was quite eager to check it out. Eventually, what I found most shocking about this movie is the fact that almost everybody in the cycling world apparently actually knew that something was wrong with this athlete and, yet, virtually nobody said anything about it. The other interesting thing was the fact that doping seems to be actually really common in this sport, something apparently even inevitable, and you might wonder if you wouldn't find exactly the same issue in any other top sport. Anyway, Lance Armstrong’s story was quite incredible and there was definitely some potential to deliver a very strong movie but, to be honest, I wonder if a documentary wouldn’t have been more eff” read more
