Tru Love is a romantic drama written and directed by the famous lesbian filmmaker Kate Johnston and the talented actress Shauna MacDonald. It tells the story of Tru, a 37-year-old bed-hopping lesbian who becomes unexpectedly smitten with elegant 60-year-old Alice. As their affection deepens, Alice’s daughter Suzanne worries that Tru may break her mother’s heart. But it seems this Casanova may have found true love at last. This movie won more than ten LGBT prizes and festival awards, mainly due to the sagacity of the scenario. Tru and Alice are portrayed by Shauna MacDonald and Kate Trotter.
