Movies watched in 2017 (98 movies items)

35 From 1: My Favorite Films From 2001 (35 movies items)

"A new cop finds out that the best way to learn the beat on the streets is to get as down and as dirty as the lining on that paves their way. And with a partner who's just as down and as dirty, the only way to determine whether or not you've got a passing grade is if you're still alive at the end of the day. "

Movies the giraffe watched in 2016: April (24 movies items)

"First viewing - April 30th Ended my Saturday night with finally watching this. Yep, Denzel does a great job in his role here. Yep, the whole film is well made. It didn't cross the line of greatness for me, but I can see how it could for others. The story is pretty intense and mostly unpredictable, and buoyed by the performances from all of the cast. The ending doesn't entirely work for me & overall it's hard to believe after all of Alonzo's years becoming who he is he'd allow a rookie to enter "

From The Superb To The Crap - Movies Seen In 2016 (284 movies items)

"Training Day is engrossing, shocking, and powerful going three fourths of the way through. Denzel Washington is great as a corrupt cop in one of the best performances to date. Ethan Hawke is also good as one who's just getting to know this corruption. It's over produced but still believable, that is until the last 20 minutes or so. The ending has some effectiveness, but is implausible. The movie could have been great had the ending lived up to the rest of it. Still most of the movie is quite goo"
