(OK) The silent version is less pure than the 1932, but Mme Lepic is an excellent monster. I would've loved to stay more sequences with little 'Poil de carotte' in his solitude, before and after being bullied by mom and brothers

"2.11. Julien Duvivierin oman mykkäelokuvansa remakessa ärsyttävä kakara vinkuu, koska hän ei mukamas saa rakkautta perheeltään. Lapsen näyttely ampuu niin pahasti yli, että porkkanapään kohtaukset tuntuvat aivan sietämättömiltä. Asiaa eivät auta yhtään mustalla tussilla hänen naamaansa piirretyt pisamat. Lapsihahmojen näyttely ei ole kuitenkaan elokuvan ainoa ongelma. Uskottavuus rapisee pois siksi, että filmin lapsihahmot ovat selvästi keski-ikäisen miehen kirjoittamia. "
