I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Keira Knightley, I was quite eager to check it out. “I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Keira Knightley, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, to be honest, I was rather surprised by how underwhelming the damned thing actually turned out to be. It’s too bad because it was actually dealing with a fascinating page of history with tons of potential. However, instead of focusing on how life was during the post-war reconstruction of Germany, they gave us one of the most tedious and unconvincing love triangles I have ever seen. Seriously, at the time, so many people were basically starving in the streets, so many cities were reduced to ruins, so who cares about the love life of these 3 characters?
