Shaun the Sheep Movie review

Posted : 7 years, 7 months ago on 20 October 2017 07:07

English

Hi im walterwhite now that I could see this movie I'm going to analyze it

the story is good but simple in aspects

One thing I liked were parodies to other movies

the animation is very good Especially that sometimes it seems that it was imposible
For the stop motion That or where some places were made giant and if I liked

characters
all the sheeps liked me, but they did not stand out so much

I think only the pigs and the villain did not serve
the villain although it seems very cruel is not as it scares so much

that happens with others like lotso (Toy story 3) or scar (the lion King) two are overratted

or just stay low against other villains like a lot of dreamworks Or the god archibald snatcher (the boxtrolls)

but with the others they are well

that same here would not happen so much with humans Since the film there are no dialogues or not speak

Ok so
Shaun the sheep movie it's a good movie not so outstanding
if it's for kids, you might like or like this movie
and to distract is a good option

Final rating 7,8

This is all im walterwhite and bye

Shaun the Sheep Movie is the perfect family movie

Shaun the Sheep Movie is the greatest movie made by Aardman. I grow up with the first series, and today i still watching the new seasons. And the movie really captures the senses to don't have any dialog. Is about Shaun who wants a day off in the farm, but he accidently makes his owner the Farmer go away in a caravan and get lost in the Big City. With the help of the sheep dog Bitzer, the flock and a wolf doggy named Slip, they must find the Farmer, get back in the farm and escape for the evil animal contaniment worker Trumper. The story even it is simple, the writing really knows how to make you laugh or how to make you cry. The Stop Motion animation is always great in Aardman with every scene. The characters are really funny, charming and cute as they are in the series like Shaun, Bitzer, The Farmer. Etc. Also the new characters are great like Trumper and Slip. The jokes are funny that you make laugh so hard. So yeah, i love this movie, and i really like to see more people to know about this film. This is a must watch. A hilarious animated comedy for the family and to see in TV or in DVD and Blu Ray. Shaun the Sheep Movie really captures the essence of the series, and in my opinion, even this movie didn't won the Oscar for Best Animated Film, i glad that it has been nominated, because in my opinion, it is the best animated film of 2015 and my favorite animated film at the time.

Shaun the Sheep Movie

Posted : 9 years, 4 months ago on 5 February 2016 08:54

Ok, so maybe it’s not quite as wildly inventive as any of the Wallace and Gromit stuff, but Shaun the Sheep Movie is a great way to spend 85 minutes. It’s so damn charming, fun, funny, sweet, and warm. There’s also something very pleasing about the tactile nature of stop-motion animation to me. Consider that a personal quirk, but trust me, Shaun the Sheep Movie is a great time.

Completely absent of dialog, Shaun the Sheep Movie tells its story entirely through grunts, whistles, visual cues and copious amounts of sight gags. Shaun is bored with his life on the farm, and goes about tricking the farmer into falling asleep and running off to the big city for a holiday. Except, naturally, mishaps pile up one after another, mistaken identities, and general anarchy. Parts of this extended vacation reminded me of the loose cattle tearing through the city in Buster Keaton’s Go West.

The constant bombardment of jokes meant that not all of them will hit. There’s far too many fart jokes for my taste, but I suppose they were trying to appeal to a younger audience with them. Much better are smarter gags like the introduction of various residents in an animal shelter, including a cat paying homage to Hannibal Lecter, a turtle marking days on a wall, and an intensely staring dog. Or another gag which has the sheep causing people to fall asleep by jumping over a gate. An obvious joke, sure, but still gets a giggle for the self-awareness of the sheep in doing it. Praise be to Aardman for creating leisurely paced family entertainments which know that a never-ending barrage of pop cultural riffs is not humor, just laziness. Even in its weaker moments, Shaun the Sheep Movie is kind of thing we need more of from American animation.

An average movie

I wasn't exactly dying to watch this movie but my daughter was quite eager to watch it. On the other hand, I have always been a huge fan of Nick Park's work and the TV show was actually pretty decent so I thought I might as well give it a try. The first detail that really impressed me was the fact that there was no dialogue whatsoever. I mean, if you are familiar with the TV show, which is always completely mute, it made sense but I didn’t expect that they would follow the same approach for a full length feature. It was really ballsy and interesting but they definitely needed to add some killer jokes to compensate and that was the main problem with this movie. Indeed, most of the jokes were fairly amusing but none of them were really hilarious. I mean, if you watch Wallace and Gromit, sure Gromit doesn’t say a word but, on the other hand, Wallace talks nonsense all the time and he is therefore responsible for half of the jokes. At least, the animation was pretty much flawless but I wouldn't expect less from Aardman. To conclude, in spite of its flaws, it was still a decent watch and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

Very fun! Hats off to Aardman again.

Since originally being introduced as a supporting character in Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave in 1995, Shaun the Sheep has had his own television series through which has instilled another legacy within the Aardman world. Shaun’s TV show served as more of a spin-off to Wallace & Gromit, and has since been a success. On the other side of things, mainstream cinema have released a variety of family-friendly spin-off features based on characters within popular franchises; examples - Puss In Boots, Planes, Penguins of Madagascar and the upcoming Minions. Shaun The Sheep Movie is a unique one, though, as it is in itself a spin-off so it is chopping off references from not only the TV series but capturing a relatable world from Wallace & Gromit where it all began. Shaun the Sheep Movie may be a very child-friendly film and is perhaps targeted more towards them than adults but the stop-motion is, as always, wonderful to watch and the story is fun.

Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Aardman’s work was their breakthrough triumph of stop-motion animation. Beginning with Wallace & Gromit, Aardman produced an era of this extraordinary filmmaking technique. Shaun The Sheep Movie is definitely the clearest and most gorgeous, visually, of any film they have done so far. This is particularly how the film highlights British landscapes, through wide shots, tracking shots and close-ups of specific props. In that respect, Shaun The Sheep Movie is very much a depiction of British culture, like Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run illustrate, too. However, without being too cynical towards a child-friendly film and comparing it too much to past Aardman films, the plot lacked creativity. Despite there were some recycled aspects like returning characters from Shaun’s spin-off series, it often appeared corny with clear plot holes. The humour was convincing, too, with the odd jokes aimed at a mixed audience, though its pre-school qualities make it funnier for kids. Still, this may sound too harsh considering that this film is more for children’s eyes but that being said from an adult’s perspective; Shaun The Sheep Movie should be a delight for them and, depending on sense of humour, for adults too.

In terms of characterization, Aardman’s idea of a Shaun the Sheep spin-off feature seemed rather bold. This is primarily because the characters are mute and it is mainly the physical actions of the characters and camerawork which must move the plot forward for children to understand. Quite frankly, it worked pretty well and in some ways, it was like the first contemporary children’s silent film. This is where a lot of previously stated humour was exhibited in a more slapstick manner than through dialogue, which is what kids like to see. As a more independent character in the film and his TV series, Shaun still feels the same sheep as from the series and in A Close Shave from 20 years ago. The return of other beloved characters from the TV show, including sheepdog Bitzer, the naughty pigs and the Farmer, enhance further warmth. The latter does resemble Wallace in some ways (perhaps related?), through love for animals, independent lifestyle yet their mutual clumsy and naïve personality. Similarly, the primary antagonist - the animal catcher is typical as it makes his actions of catching stray animals, what seem realistically right, become villainous. He actually resembles Victor in Curse Of The Were-Rabbit.

Shaun The Sheep Movie is a delightful hats off to its predecessors, though not chronologically, and it is a heartwarming film for the family. You don’t have to be an avid fan of Wallace and Gromit, Chicken Run or Aardman in general to enjoy this nor of the Shaun TV series. It has possesses many things that are friendly enough to be introduced to and enjoy - the story is simple to follow as are the characters. Nevertheless, despite being a successful TV series, Shaun the Sheep’s own feature film was perhaps irrelevant but it adds to the ranks of impressive spin-offs to past successful franchises and is another Aardman success.
