“To be honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since it was on the 'They Shoot Pictures, Don’t They' list, I was quite eager to check it out. What a strange and slightly horrific little movie. Indeed, I have to admit that I had actually no idea what it was about and, at first, it seemed to be a rather sweet and poetic look on vintage Paris at the end of the 40's. However, pretty quickly, they started to focus on what was happening behind the doors of a Parisian slaughterhouse and, well, if you ever wondered if you should become a vegetarian, watching this movie would probably seal the deal for you.
