" 7.27The aptly titled Race brings us behind the lines of the '36 Berlin Olympics where Jesse Owens embarrassed Hitler with a commanding, world-breaking performance on the track while filmmaker Leni Reifenstahl's camera was rolling. Stephen James' Owens is the centerpiece of the movie, a good enough performance muddled by some weak supporting characters, and moments that could have been more dramatic. "
"Too generic of a telling of a true great story to be that memorable of a film. This as well as standard movie "dramatic" moments for films like this with all the obliged finger wagging at the ignorance of the time."
"This film hits every point for a biopic, without ever trying to do anything spectacular with it, the performances are passable, but not Oscar-worthy, but the script is pretty good, making it worth watching at least once. 6.9/10"
