Now while there are plenty of things to hate on there are also things to like about it. I will say the run-time was too long but that could have been helped with a more redefined script. Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar was great for sure the best villain since barbossa back in Pirates 1 "

Despite its cast, the movie never found its footing due to a weak plot and an underwhelming antagonist who was seemingly designed to be convenient to the plot, as opposed to serving a greater purpose to the movie's story. Best to Worst: Pirates of the Caribbean (5 movies items)"7.4 / 10 - I was positively surprised when I saw this movie after some people told me it was horrible and I found it to be quite the opposite. I really enjoyed it and thought it has everything a Pirates of the Caribbean movie needed. Salazar gave me chills and the jokes were hilarious. A had lots of emotions watching this one and that's why it gets thrid place."

“After watching this movie, I wonder if it will be such a success at the box-office. Maybe thanks to the lack of competition, it might still make some money but I'm pretty sure it will end up being the lowest grossing installment in this franchise. I mean, after 6 years, you might hope they would have managed to bring something new and exciting but, unfortunately, they didn't make much of an effort and they pretty much recycled the same formula. One thing that bothered me was the fact that, pretty much like in the previous movie, there was just too many people involved in this quest. For example, why on Earth was Barbossa involved again in this adventure? Sure, he is a pretty cool character and Geoffrey Rush is a fine actor but they could have done fine without him.
