Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová (whose characters are never named) decide to play together in a music shop. He starts to play one of his songs – which turns out to be, of course, Falling Slowly – and she starts to learn the chords and join in on the piano, so that soon they're in perfect harmony. I just can't argue with a couple bonding over music! :-) The song itself deservedly won an Oscar"

Hienojen musiikillisten ansioittensa lomassa Once on myös ollakseen moraalinen kasvatusopas modernin ihmisen selkärangattomuudesta. Tahtoisin pitää elokuvasta kokonaisuutena enemmän, mutta 80-minuuttisesta kestosta huolimatta siinä on liian paljon tyhjää pääosakaksikon roolisuoritusten ympärillä."

Watched in 2016 (424 movies items)"16.3.2016 Viime aikoina on tullut kuunneltua jonkun verran folkia, jonka takia tämäkin filmi alkoi kiinnostaa. Once onkin varsin positiivisella asenteella rullaava romanttinen tarina. Homma ei missään vaiheessa ala tuntua päälle liimatulta ja kappaleet sopivat hyvin tarinan kuljetukseen. Loppuratkaisukin on mielestäni onnistunut ja positiivinen fiilis jää elämään. Soundtrackia tuli kuunneltua tänään työmatkalla. Suosittelen sitä kaikille."
