" DVD- 2hrs. 12min. First Viewing Too clever for its own good; Miss Sloane often serves as a superb showcase for Jessica Chastain's talents, but a script that wants to be clever at the expense of all else derails thiss film from reaching its full potential. It's like a watered-down Sorkin script, with rat-a-tat dialogue, but without his solid plotting. Chastain is superb, but even she can't make the last act "twist" anything but absurd. "15/5/17 A political thriller about a lobbyist fighting against pro-guns might not seem the most exciting of subject matters but this wordy film is given an ace card: Jessica Chastain. She is mesmerizing in a role that, frankly, is unlikeable and yet she dominates the screen throughout, leaving the rest of the cast as bit players. Well worth watching just for her performance and the neat twist in the final act."

"I feel I've been seeing this a lot this year but this is yet another great performance in the lead role from Jessica Chastain but with an overall movie that was very mediocre. Felt like an extended episode of the West Wing, was wondering if Aaron Sorkin wrote this but I suppose it was just channeling his dialogue. I found the whole plot to be ridiculous though and I thought the actions of Ms. Sloane to be unrealistic to how her character was set up to be. I felt like the writers lied to me reall"
