“Les adoptés” (“The Adopted”) is the story of a family. A family of women who’ve been knocked around by life but have gradually learned to hold their own in the maelstrom. Men don’t have much room in their lives. So when one of them falls in love, the entire family is turned upside-down. Each does her best to find a new equilibrium. But fate barely gives them a chance to catch their breath before thrusting them into another hard reality. So it’s back to square one for the whole clan. The adoption process swings back into gear, forcing each member into yet a new position.
