I didn

Watching 'Junior', I had no idea what the target audience was! Too scary for kids and too boring for adults! All these references to sex and drugs.

'Junior' opens with Dr. Alex Hesse (Arnold Schwarzenegger) finding a presumably lost baby, Alex calls for help and then...and then...it pisses everywhere, Alex then finds lots more babies who are screaming and presumably doing the same! But it's just a nightmare!

This movie was so boring that I didn't laugh once! I took multiple breaks! And the number 1 reason that this movie is not suitable for younger kids is...

That was a tough watch! Lol! The Nostalgia Critic found it more terrifying than I did!

So how does Alex get a baby inside him? Well he's a scientist and Dr. Larry Arbogast (Danny DeVito) suggests that he undergoes a male pregnancy which involves in Larry taking all sorts of - drugs maybe? And then Larry drugs Alex's stomach with a needle which has an ovum in it...

Now this movie is overly complicated - and not in a good way! The drug is called Junior? And it's in the title of the movie! And it's what Alex decides to call his baby (unsure of whether it's a boy or a girl)

Now how the hell did Emma Thompson get a part in this? As Dr. Diana Reddin who is the mother of Alex's child because the ovum was from her own body!

Alex gives birth to a baby girl, Larry's ex-wife Angela (Pamela Reed) gives birth to a boy (yes there are two pregnancies in this movie, not one but two)

The biggest flaw is that this movie is so boring and the acting is not very good (not even Emma Thompson was good), the only good thing about this movie is the original song 'Look What Love Has Done', it's in the scenes of Alex dressed as a woman (yes, it got weirder), it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song but for crying out loud, put it with a movie that deserves it!

So I'll just say that I haven't seen 'Twins' (also starring Schwarzenegger and DeVito) and I thought 'Juno' was better than 'Junior'! Bye, bye!

An underrated movie

To be honest, I'm usually not a fan of those comedies starring action movie stars as most of them are usually worthless. However, I don't understand why everybody think this one is so atrocious and, as matter of fact, I don't think it was bad at all. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito were reunited just like in 'Twins' and, this time, Emma Thompson even joins the party. I don't know, maybe it is because they really pushed the boundaries and to make Schwarzenegger get pregnant was maybe too much for the mainstream audience but I thought it was actually pretty funny. Furthermore, I think DeVito is one of the most underrated actors out there and he really rocked as usual. Same thing for Emma Thompson who is one of the best actresses alive and shows here that she can handle comedy without any trouble. Of course, the story is completely preposterous and it is far from being a masterpiece but I don't think it deserves such a bad reputation. To conclude, I think you should check it out yourself and make up your own mind, but, in my opinion, I think it is definitely worth a look.

I'm at a loss trying to explain why this

Devito + Schwarzenegger in a comedy with outrageous unbelievable plot (TWINS) = pure gold

Devito + Schwarzenegger in a comedy with outrageous unbelievable plot (JUNIOR) = disaster

I don't know why. Maybe partly because it almost feels like a sequel to Twins, but obviously it wasnt. Or because the screenplay simply wasn't funny. or maybe devito and schwarzenegger tried too hard to recreate the magic formular that made Twins such a classic. Something is missing in this film.
