Creature from the Black Lagoon update feed
"12.4. 2024 "Creature from the Black Lagoon" is one of the weaker Universal monster movies. It could have been something like "King Kong", an exciting adventure film, that also shows greedy capitalist system in all its ugliness, but "Creature from the Black Lagoon" is more straight-forward than critical. The story doesn't give much space to any characters and the whole adventure is over before it even properly begins."
" "I can tell you something about this place. The boys around here call it "The Black Lagoon" - a paradise. Only they say nobody has ever come back to prove it." Directed by Jack Arnold Written by Harry Essex, Arthur A. Ross and Maurice Zimm Music by Henry Mancini, Hans J. Salter and Herman Stein Cinematography by William E. Snyder Editing by Ted J. Kent"
"Re-watch - Oct. 29th My daughter picked Creature for us to watch together after dinner tonight, and while she poked fun at it at times she liked the Gill-man and enjoyed it overall. Aside from his theme music which is overused, it's a solid film...far from a personal favorite but definitely not bad."
