" Notes: Even though I have seen almost all the movies directed by Mel Brooks, I'm afraid I have never been a really huge fan of his work. Anyway, since this movie is a huge classic, I was really eager to check it out. Following its reputation, I really expected the whole thing to be seriously hilarious but, to be honest, eventually, I thought it was indeed pretty funny but not much more than Iโm afraid. For me, the best example is the scene around the fire where you get to see all these cowbo"
""Blazing Saddles is funny, yet in another way itโs quite serious โ especially if you place the movie in context with the blaxploitation genre... These were outside-of-the-system films that, among other things, depicted African-American men as independent, powerful figures capable of undermining white authority. Why was Blazing Saddles โ a major studio release โ allowed to do the same thing? Perhaps because it was disguised as a comedy and a period piece.." - Josh Larsen"
"una increible parodia a las peliculas vaqueras, y la mejor parodia de parte del director. An incredible parody of the cowboy movies, and the best parody on the part of the director."
"Mel Brooks said that, in today's oversensitive Western world, Blazing Saddles could not be made. If that is true, then not only has the West become too oversensitive, but it has also become incredibly stupid. Way back when I saw it, it was obvious to me that it was satire. Blazing Saddles is only offensive to those who are not intelligent enough to figure that out."
"Re-Watched 08/30/2016 Rating 9.0/10 Format: Blu Ray Blazing Saddles is my favorite Gene Wilder movie its simple comedy western at its best nothing great better than this. "
"Re-watch - Aug. 29th Under different circumstances I would have watched another film from my queue, but the loss of Gene Wilder could not go unrecognized. I almost reached for Young Frankenstein instead since that's my favorite film he ever made, but it hasn't been long since I last watched it whereas it's been longer since I last watched Blazing Saddles. This is still one of the funniest films ever made & justifies its high placement on the AFI's comedy list. The ways it pokes fun at westerns"
"Saddle Dreams of a saddle symbolize control, mastery, or influence. If you are seated in a saddle, then you are using your will and are in the seat of your power."
"Pretty much the whole climax of the film, including characters actually breaking a wall into another set! If it's a Mel Brooks movie, it's safe to assume the Fourth Wall will be his bitch."
