August Rush review

Posted : 9 years, 6 months ago on 18 October 2014 09:55

This movie is baptized by me as one of the epic, the kind that the plot will not be the surje of the commercial, but his music breaks down barriers, anywhere you see them, there love and reunion full of feeling my soul, makes my neurons in musical instrumnetos, causing me to be what I was not, give peace to the hearts of men and women with the ability if you can .. for those who are not, those who spent our lives, by they left their mark, so that the ashes are no longer a prayer thanks God for the music that makes us remember no matter the pace, but its essence

August Rush manages what humanity needs peace with justice. "The music we rode, we just have to listen"

A movie drenched in sentimentality, but it's supposed to be. There's something brave about the way "August Rush" declares itself and goes all the way with coincidence, melodrama and skillful tear-jerking. I think more sensitive younger viewers, in particular, might really like it.

"But I believe in music... The way that some people believe in fairy tales."

Overall Opinion

August Rush is a good movie. I can watch it over and over 'cause I will never be tired of him. In my opinion this is a movie that call our attention from the beginning until then end.

Casting

I think the cast was perfect. Freddie Highmore is a good actor when we talk about these kinds of movies and, in my opinion, Robbie William is perfect for this role, I think he's got some kind of magic for acting. The cast was really perfect and I can't imagine others to play the same roles.

Soundtrack

Soundtrack is fundamental for any movie and I believe that with the certain one a movie can be really good. That's what happen in August Rush, the soundtrack of this movie makes it magic. There's a Concert of music in the end and i really love to hear that, it's my favorite part of the movie.

CGI Effects

The CGI Effects might not be very detailed but in the beginning when the boy was on that wheat field and he was like control them it was really great.

Storyline

The story is about a talented singer and a charismatic cellist that fall in love and spent a night together. Lyla, the cellist, is pregnant but her father thinks that the baby will ruin her future and he gives him to adoption.
Years later the boy runs away from the orphanage to find he's parents.

A good movie

Posted : 12 years, 9 months ago on 22 July 2011 09:12

Even though this movie seemed to be a rather obscure feature, if you would believe the impressive IMDb rating (7.5), it was in fact some kind of cult-classic so I was quite eager to check the damned thing. Well, to be honest, even if I did like this movie, it still took me a while before getting into it. Basically, the main problem I had was that, from the start, I pretty much already knew where the whole thing was going. Indeed, this tale was actually heavily inspired by 'Oliver Twist' so, if you are familiar with this tale like I was, it felt slightly redundant. As a a result, I wasn't really captivated by the whole thing and I had actually had a hard time to really care about what was going on. Still, at some point, it finally started to really grab me with the scene when Freddie Highmore grabbed a guitar and started to literally slam it. Indeed, I thought it was really awesome and, from this point, I finally got hooked by the story and the actors who, by the way, all provided good performances. Eventually, even though it was not really original, it was rather well made and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.ย

Although Charles Dickens isn't credited, Oliver Twist obviously served as the source of inspiration for this hyper-romanticized, musical overhaul of his beloved literary classic. To refresh your memory, the novel's protagonist is an innocent young lad raised in an orphanage who runs away after being ostracized by the other kids.

Oliver then makes his way from the country to London where he's befriended by a street urchin nicknamed the Artful Dodger who, in turn, brings him to a den of pint-sized thieves under the thumb of the diabolical Fagin. The naive newcomer is welcomed into the lair and is unwittingly manipulated by the duplicitous ringleader into partaking in the gang's shady shenanigans. Although Oliver eventually wises up, he still finds it hard to extricate himself untl his plight comes to the attention of a relative in a position to help.

Love, love, this movie. There have been many great music movies, but this one is by far the best. Beyond the amzing power music has toward life, is the power of family, and love, and the things that connect us all. One of the best heart warming, freedom films of all.

The first half was jumbled and didn't really hold my attention. I enjoyed the last half, but it's not one you'll want to watch again and again.

Just another mellow love story

A movie for old ladies to watch on afternoon... nothing else. The story is too "easy": adequate for non-demanding viewers.

Mushy Chick Flick

I went to see this and I wasn't expecting much, so at least I wasn't disappointed. This movie follows a musical prodigy as he uses his talents to find his long-lost parents, and we watch as all the events unfold toward a big, beautiful, overly-coincidental musical climax. The characters don't have a lot of depth; I heard this described as a urban fairy tale, so I guess it is fitting, but I just didn't buy it. I thought there would at least be interesting music in this movie, but as soon as I walked out of the theatre I couldn't recall any of it. I see someone tagged this movie with tear jerker, but I certainly didn't shed any tears--it was just too over the top and cheesy for me. That being said, I didn't hate it--it's just not my particular taste.

Bring tissue

Posted : 16 years, 5 months ago on 23 November 2007 06:24

When I first saw the trailers for this movie I thought that it had the potential to be a magical movie. Some of the critical reviews I have read wouldn't agree with me, but I thought it was pretty magical. The music is an important character in the movie and it comes at you all the time from different directions.

Each main character in the movie has their own personality that is brought out by the music presented in their scenes. The father is a little bit rock and roll while the mother is a little bit classical. Freddie is a little bit of both of them and a blend nature. He hears music in everything around him.

In the movie, Freddie is in a home for boys and believes that he gets his musical inspiration from his parents and sets out to find them. This is where his musical adventure begins. Along the way he gets help from many different people and builds up his musical talents.

This movie is a must see for anyone who loves the power and beauty of music. It has some very touching moments that may need tissue. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
