“This movie right here had a very unusual trailer to it. Yet whenever I was on Netflix it would grab my attention with it's look and title. The cast is small with only a few recognizable faces. It's directed by Oz Perkins who is legendary horror actor Anthony Perkins' son. With that I was even more intrigued about this film. The ratings are very poor, but I always like to put my own judgement into things. So let's give this a shot.
This has to be one of the strangest most surreal ghost stories I've seen. It's not your run of the mill ghost stories. There are a lot of lingering shots and it moves very slow. It's beautifully shot and the imagery is nice to look at. I actually pleasantly enjoyed the poetic dialogue. It was just altogether different and moving.

"First viewing - Jan. 7th The title of this one keeps drawing me toward it, so I decided I'd pair it with another horror film for my Saturday night enjoyment. For those who are curious about it, you should know going into it that it's not a fast-paced horror movie nor a gory one to any degree. Overall it's pretty minimal, which would explain why not many people are singing its praises. I was able to hang with it though, and it does deliver a couple of deliciously suspenseful set pieces that work"
"This was a total waste of time. There is nothing scary in this and the movie was just boring. The build up to the ending took over 95% of the run time and then the only proper "scare" was just so weak."
