" Date: 7/1/2021 Viewed: Amazon Prime (Rental) Re-watch Note: I haven't seen Alphaville since I was a teenager, and I've been in the mood to watch it. Kino Lorber recently released it on Blu-ray, but my wallet has been tight at the moment. Thankfully, you can rent it in HD on Itunes (As of 7/1/2021). A bizarre mix of the French New Wave with crossing genres, this surreal journey is as complex and confusing as you'd expect from Goddard. While you can appreciate why this film is held in such regard, it's far too slow and ponderous and doesn't have any real connection with the viewer."
