Divergent (2014)
The movie began 20 minutes late, and then got cut off at the end, as they had to start the next movie.
The Smurfs 2 (2013)
During a Summer Movie Express screening of the movie, the film started with the Blue Screen of Death for a few minutes before actually starting.
Inside Out (2015)
When I saw this movie a second time, Jurassic World accidentally played instead of the movie. The fifth time, the screen blacked out during the Memory Dump scene, and we left.
Gremlins (1984)
In what I could describe as a real life version of “Gremlins in the projection booth” scene from Gremlins 2, the theater accidentally played It’s a Wonderful Life instead of Gremlins. They didn’t know if they would get the movie to play, so we got a refund and I never got to watch the film (this would’ve been my first time seeing it, as I haven’t seen either Gremlins film, but only clips of them).
The theater (and the audience)) was unaware that there was a 10 minute intermission between the R and S films, and during the scene in the S movie where Luna becomes human, the video for the Front and Center preshow played over the last few minutes of the film, causing me, my twin sister, and the two girls next to me to laugh. The entire audience laughed at the error when Luna called the boy she was in love with a “space astronaut” or something, and a still ad for a concert with a man’s face showed up. However, the funniest part for me was when a cooking show played over the credits!

I knew something was off when the movie never started and the preshow music only played: apparently, there was a glitch in the file that prevented it from playing.
I’m lucky: most of my movie experiences have been flawless. However, there have been a few times where major mistakes have happened.
