They don´t call this The Godfather of scifi movies for nothing. It´s the most intense, deep and action-packed of the original trilogy and pulls off it perfectly. It took what worked in the first movie and added more, creating the strongest point in the saga. And if this film doesn´t prove Darth Vader to be the greatest movie villain ever, I don´t know what does.

What can be said about this that hasn´t been already? This changed film history forever and started a legend that still lives. Many great sagas owe their existence for this one. This was when Lucas cared more about bringing his audience to a journey through a fantastic world rather than making money. A masterpiece.

Third installments don´t usually match their precedessors at best, but they still deliver a solid conclusion to their story which this one does great. This film brings the saga to the ultimate climax and manages to keep the audience invested in seeing how it all ends, while introducing a few more iconic characters and legendary battle scenes. The scenes between Luke and Vader at the end are just brilliant. A fantastic finale to a fantastic trilogy.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
How grateful I am to J.J Abrams for bringing back the saga with this thing. Not only does it serve as a wonderful love letter to the first movie, but creates a solid new story too with interesting new characters and a real feel of arousing adventure. Sure, the plot has quite too much similarities to A New Hope and the villains are no Darth Vader nor the Emperor, but what the film did right, it did better than it needed to. What worked in the original trilogy is back and what didn´t in the prequels is gone. Thank you Abrams.

This film does a passable job in connecting the previous films to the original trilogy, but even then, you could just see this movie and understand how things came to be. As Star Wars prequels go, it´s the most tolerable one. Sure, there´s way too much reliance on CGI, a lot of the plot feels forced and Hayden Christensen´s likability is almost nonexistent, but it does flow pretty fairly enough and feels much more like Star Wars than the other prequels do.

Yeah...this one is a lot of fun to talk about. It´s interesting how people´s reactions to this film changed radically as years passed, proving how hype can cloud the judgement. This film is definitely one hot mess, as the plot fluctuates between serious political talk and silly antics involving a hokey child actor and racist alien characters that feel like they came from a totally different movie. Not much to say about the story and the acting either that hasn´t been said already. Can´t really call it good, but as bad films go, this is not among the worst. The podrace and the lightsaber fight are still cool, though.

Say what you want about the Phantom Menace, but this is far worse. The story is a drag full of things that make no sense, the CGI overload is way too much present and the romance scenes between Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman which take up 60% of the plot are just cringeworthy. A couple of fun action scenes don´t save this from boredom either. There doesn´t even happen that much here to connect it to the original saga, so one can easily skip this one.
