Oooh I really loved this one. It's beautifully made with such charm and it's surprisingly warm. The film functions as a world of it's own. It's stylized, with its fast-paced dialogue, small town set, and these long takes beautifully edited with quick inserts of details. The atmosphere works really well and although the film is rich in dialogue the main storytelling mediums are really image and sound. What really surprised me is how invested I got with the characters from the start, taking into account that for a long time in the start of the film we mainly see them in wider shots, from their back. The only thing I'm not sure how I feel about is the parts that were made to look like on an old 50s TV. But everything is forgiven since the film got me absolutely invested in the story and these are kind of films that always put a smile on my face, magical, with a world and language of their own.

From the start of the film you sense that some unnerving trippy things are gonna happen. Unfortunately, for me it came too late, I wasn't overly invested or interested in the couple's fairytale love, it just didn't feel very real, nor did it have time to unfold, maybe if the film gave us more of their story. The protagonist also never seemed like a real person and I couldn't quite get it what was with all the emphasis on her job and Berlin's architecture, the setting of the lake seemed more connected to the story. But anyway, it did have some lovely dreamy visuals and I loved the kind of horroric atmosphere of a love film.
