Rugrats: Pilot Epsiode (1990)
This episode is titled "Tommy Pickles and The Great White Thing" and is a short unaired pilot episode for the series, prior to Tommy's first birthday.

RELEASE INFO: This episode is available on the 10th anniversary DVD compilation "Decade in Diapers".
Rugrats: Season 1 (1991-1992)
The first episode of the main series begins with Tommy's first birthday, and the babies don't grow up much farther from this point onwards (excluding the spin-off series).

RELEASE INFO: All nine seasons were previously released as print-on-demand DVDs by Amazon, but those releases are long out-of-print. Nickelodeon began re-releasing the season sets as normal retail DVD releases in 2017.

Rugrats: Season 7 (2001-2002)
Rugrats: Preschool Daze (Episode) (2002)
This is an episode that aired between Seasons 7 & 8 and was actually a pilot for a spin-off series about Angelica starting pre-school. (She's presumably in pre-school from this episode until the end of the series.)

RELEASE INFO: This is technically just an episode in the regular "Rugrats" series, so it's found in the appropriate season set.
(2005) Angelica's adventures in pre-school were further documented in this four-episode spin-off series.

RELEASE INFO: Two episodes of this series are included as special features on each of the two "Tales from the Crib" DVD releases, resulting in the whole series being available across those two DVDs.
Rugrats: Season 8 (2001-2003)
Rugrats: Season 9 (2002-2003)
People who added this item 240 Average listal rating (158 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 5.6
This movie isn't related to the plot of the show in any way, but it premiered near the end of the final season while the characters are still babies, so it makes sense to watch this right after the final season.

RELEASE INFO: This movie is available as a stand-alone DVD or in a trilogy 3-disc set with the other two "Rugrats" feature films.
Rugrats - Tales from the Crib: Snow White (2005)...
This direct-to-DVD movie was released several years after the series ended, and features Angelica telling the babies a fable.

RELEASE INFO: This movie is available as a stand-alone DVD or in a rarer 2-disc set with the other "Tales from the Crib" film.
Rugrats - Tales from the Crib: Three Jacks and a Beanstalk (2006)...
This direct-to-DVD movie was released several years after the series ended, and features Angelica telling the babies a fable.

RELEASE INFO: This movie is available as a stand-alone DVD or in a rarer 2-disc set with the other "Tales from the Crib" film.
People who added this item 483 Average listal rating (338 ratings) 4.8 IMDB Rating 6.4
(2001) This is an episode that aired between Seasons 7 & 8 and was actually a pilot for a spin-off series about the babies 10 years in the future as pre-teens, so it makes sense to save this episode and watch it after finishing all of the other baby-centric content.

RELEASE INFO: This is technically just a 2-part episode in the regular "Rugrats" series, so it's found in the appropriate season set.
People who added this item 293 Average listal rating (196 ratings) 4.9 IMDB Rating 5.5
All Grown Up! (2003)
(2003-2008) The babies' pre-teen adventures were told further in this spin-off series, representing the oldest version of the characters that are seen in the franchise. (It lasted five seasons.)

RELEASE INFO: Only six episodes have been released on DVD in North America across three 2-episode releases. However, all five seasons have been released on DVD as season sets in Australia.
Rugrats: Young Adult Character Sketches (2015)...
While the series never shows the babies as adults, former Rugrats storyboard artist Eric Molinsky posted his own sketches online in 2015 demonstrating what he thought the babies might look like as young adults, which is the closest we'll likely ever get to seeing them at this age.

This is a viewing/watch order for the "Rugrats" franchise that incorporates all of the seasons, movies, spin-offs, and specials. These follow the timeline of the characters chronologically, and inserts the movies/spin-offs where they make the most sense.
