Sera is a habitable planet with a day of 26 hours, the territory consists of large continents and several island chains . On this planet the plot of the Gears of War Saga unfolds. In the basement of the planet is a liquid known as luminescent Imulsion later became a source of fuel that eliminated the need for oil or nuclear energy. However, Imulsion also caused major wars among its inhabitants for control of this , the conflict known as the Pendulum Wars would last decades . Beneath the surface of Sera is also " The Hollow " , home of the Locust .

Before E - Day , Sera was a host for many world cultures and nations , as it were: Coalition of Ordered Governments ( COG ) , Union of Independent Republics ( URI). The CGO had their headquarters in Tyre , Ephyra , Jacinto and Sarfuth , while the URI covering the territories of Pelles and Ostri Republic. There was also a group of islands called the Southern Islands .

Be had a history of conflict that took the planet to the brink of destruction . The " Age of Apocalypse " was a long global conflict for millennia that almost destroyed the human race . At some point , the people of Sera their destructive ways and reject the very concept of war and ushering in an era of peace and prosperity.

The Silent Era was a period of peace that lasted until the Pendulum Wars . most conflicts are resolved peacefully , civil liberties and crime remained on social issues , including issues of culture , science , and art. Although , a major problem was above the rest : energy. The sources of petroleum and nuclear fuel Sera were not sufficient to meet global demand . With the promise of Imulsion which was almost boundless energy , was thought to be the solution to the greatest need of mankind.

Following Process perfection Lightmass hoping that the cheap energy that perpetuba Golden Age shattered. The world economy collapsed, leaving only a few nations with access to Imulsion . Nations without Imulsion were facing ruin, so invaded their neighbors for this key resource. The battle lines were organized between the Union of Independent Republics and the Coalition of Ordered Governments . The 79 years of war almost destroyed the two factions, with the reappearance of weapons of mass destruction. After the battle fields Aspho pendulum wars reached their final end , with a very high price in the town of Sera. It seemed that under the CGO , Sera could enter a second golden age .

Day EmergenciaEditar section
Began almost six weeks after the war of the pendulum, almost all human cities were subject to attack by surprise of the Locust Horde , which killed more than a quarter of all human life on Sera in the first 24 hours : attack now known as the Dia- E . The CGO sent millions of human beings to the Jacinto Plateau , one of the few safe havens in the world . Then proceeded to burn and destroy the planet with chemicals and fire satellite in order to eliminate all the Locust surface , but this also caused many human losses and holocaust survivors . The surface of Sera, is full of the ruins of destroyed cities and battlefields besides burned . . . Few human beings known as "survivors " still live in cities falls Sera Although small patrol forces against the locust , the planet is relatively safe during the day Night is another case: the skies planet filled by swarms of deadly creatures known as Kryll . they attack and devour any living creature that wander in the dark, even against the Locust .
