My Top 8 Donnie Yen

This movie introduced me to the great duo Wilson Yip and Donnie Yen and it's still my favorite from them. Donnie Yen is a master of Martial Arts acting and a superb actor and Wilson Yip knows how to direct Donnie to his very best.

This movie has become The modern Martial Arts movie in my eyes in a Police story setting with a dramatic and action-packed story like I've never seen before coming from Hong Kong.

If Kill Zone is a great action movie, Yip Man is The Martial Arts movie. Historical setting, great cast, Donnie Yen on fire and a well-achieved story. Simply fantastic.

This movie is every martial arts aficionado dreams turned reality! A fantastic story (very much like Wong Fei Hung, after all it's the same universe) with outstanding and breath-taking choreographies throughout the movie.

This movie isn't among my top action movies of all time for the simple reason that I'm more of an enthusiast of realistic fighting, and while this isn't a fantasy tale in the fashion of Hero, it still mixes theatricality in its realistic settings.

You simply can't help but become a fan of Donnie Yen if you watch this and happen to follow Hong Kong's crazy martial arts flicks!
