This isn't just one of my favorite movie to watch during a thunderstorm because it's one of my favorite movies of all time. It's the settings of this particular Star Wars episode that create a feeling of confinement, of shelter from the outside enviroment.
For instance, the harsh weather on Hoth in the beginning, hiding the Millennium Falcon inside the Exogorth in the asteroid, plus the simple fact that they're in space, and you can't exactly just walk outside. And the atmosphere of Dagobah of course goes well with a rainy day.

This one should be a no-brainer. The infamouse T-Rex scene makes this ideal thunderstorm viewing. The booms, the roars, the screams,THE TERROR! With the thunder rumbling at the same time sexy Rexy makes his entrance, it's like the closest you can to the actual experience, and the closest you'll wanna get.
Seven (1995)

The stormy surroundings just fit so well with the grim mood of this murder mystery masterpiece, which also takes place almost entirely in the rain. Absolutely brilliant movie, with an ending you wcould never forget. What's in the box?

Now this one couldn't be a more obvious choice. This really helps lighten the mood with its peppy tunes and cheerful characters. And it helps remind you that if you can pull of fancy dance numbers in the rain, it must not be that bad.
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)

It's always fun watching a slasher movie when it's raining outside. But this one sticks out in my memory especially because one of my favorite deaths occurs in a scene where it's raining. And not to spoil it for anyone, but it involves someone in a wheelchair.
Die Hard (1988)

Sometime storms can make you feel trapped. Closed in. Confined to one place, presumably your house. John McClane finds himself trapped in a skyscraper with a bunch of terrorists holding his wife and her co-workers hostage. I think it's a great movie to watch during a storm. Then again, I think it's a great movie to watch any time.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

Pretty much my only reason for including this one is that it's one of my favorite horror movies and I just love watching it during a storm. It's scary enough without the thunder, but even scarier with it.
The Ring (2002)

I guess it's just natural for a horror movie to work so well during a storm, so why not go with one of the greatest horror movies ever made. This remarkable remake creates such an eerie atmosphere in its gloomy color scheme and haunting tone.
The Weather Man (2005)

This is another one that hosts a rather gloomy atmosphere, and taking place in the cold snow. And maybe it's just the fact that it deals with a weather man, but I love this movie and I love watching it when the weather outside sucks balls.
Identity (2003)

Yeah I guess maybe this movie is kind of stupid, the twist might piss some people off, but I do like it. I've always had fun watching it. And if nothing else, it's another movie that takes place almost entirely in the rain.
Hard Rain (1998)

I'm actually not really much of a fan of this flick, but if you're reading this list looking for some rainy day recommendations, then I wouldn't feel right posting this without recognizing its rightful mention, because as you can imagine, it has a lot to do with dangerous rain.
These are some of my favorite movies to watch when it's raining and/or storming its ass off.
