Marcello Dudovich' "Simplicissimus" Artworks_3
Simplicissimus was a satirical German weekly magazine published from 1896 to 1967, with a break from 1945 to 1954. Its name was after the protagonist of Hans Jacob Christoffel von Grimmelshausen's novel Die aubenteuerliche Simplicissimus Teutsch (The adventurous Simplicissimus Teutsch, 1668).
Simplicissimus gained increasing popularity from its beginning to the 1930s.
Marcello Dudovich
Italian graphic and painter Marcello Dudovich collaborated with Simplicissimus in different periods in the course of the 1910s, of the 1920s and of the 1930s.
