La sonrisa vertical (The vertical smile)

"La sonrisa vertical" (The vertical smile) is a collection of over 140 erotic books, published by Tusquets Editores in Spain, since 1977. The idea was to publish a lot of books that were forbidden during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco.

In words of one of the creators of the collection,Luis G. Berlanga:

"We want to give air to breathe, because desire is health, and above everything we want to recover the cult to erection, to hedonism, to the fertile harvest that one good and joyful literature can offer to us. And, with our books, with our and your vertical smile, verify that writing about biologically desirable things is something inmanent to all times, to all geographies, to all men"
