Kristin was involved with Wicked for almost all of its early workshops. The part of Glinda was written with her in mind, and ultimately tailored to her vast vocal range. She was the original Glinda on Broadway, garnering a 2004 Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Musical.

She was then tapped to lead the show on the 2nd National Tour.
