About Ed Wood
Eduard Davis Wood, Jr. was an American film director, writer, and actor known for being a B-class film director, author of films such as Glen or Glenda, Bridge of Monster, and Plan 9 from Outer Space.
This side of Ed was captured in the movie "Ed Wood" directed by Tim Burton where his early years in Hollywood are portrayed.
Ed tried to direct big films for Hollywood but as the years went by and failing to achieve nothing but failure after failure, he ended up entering the pornographic film industry until he finally died.
Ed Wood died in 1978 after having had drinking problems during the last years of his life.
In 1980, in a book called "The Golden Turkey Awards" Ed Wood would be named the worst film director in history, this would cause a group of enthusiasts to become interested in his life and filmography, noting that many of His works were quite interesting, thus creating a cult director status, and his best-known work called "Plan 9 from Outer Space" would also become named as a cult film.
