1) The Shining
Brilliant, unsettling masterpiece with a scary atmosphere from start to finish. Jack Nicholson's best role, he is godlike here. And the "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" scene is always priceless.
2) A Clockwork Orange

Imho, best thriller ever made. Brad Pitt could have been better in some parts (especially in the end, he does not convince me as he should) and Morgan Freeman absolutely steals every scene he's in. Paltrow is nice too and manages well to express all the fragility and the sweetness of her character. Not to mention Kevin Spacey, who has never been disturbing as in this one.
This films also contains some great disillusioned and misanthropic quotes, the most impressive being : "Ernest Hemingway once wrote, 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' I agree with the second part."
2) Fight Club
