A list of my favorite songs by English singer-songwriter Andy Gibb.
Andrew Roy "Andy" Gibb (born in Manchester, England, UK on 5 March 1958 and died in Oxford, England, UK on 10 March 1988), was an English singer, songwriter, musician, performer and teen idol. He was the younger brother of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, the members of Bee Gees.
At the age of six months, Gibb emigrated with his family to Queensland, Australia, settling on Cribb Island just north of Brisbane. After moving several times around Brisbane and Sydney, Gibb returned to the United Kingdom in January 1967 as his older brothers began to gain international fame with their trio, the Bee Gees.
Gibb had three back-to-back US number one hits by the time he was 21-years-old: "I Just Want To Be Your Everything," "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water" and "Shadow Dancing," which was number one for seven weeks in the summer of 1978.
In total, six of Gibb's singles reached the Top 10 in the United States and he had another three top 20 singles. He also collaborated with Olivia Newton-John and P.P. Arnold and he joined his brothers on stage during the Bee Gees "Spirits Having Flown" tour in 1979.
Gibb's success was brief, as he battled drug addiction and depression and died just five days after turning 30 from myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle caused by a viral infection and aggravated by his long abuse of cocaine, which fatally weakened his heart.
