I bought this and The Two Towers used for โฌ5 in January to replace my old VHS versions. I'm holding out on the any special editions until the Blu-Ray Turbo Hyper Edition hits.

Even though I've seen it lots, I picked this up to complete my AP collection.

Appropriately, I guess, I saw PD in a graveyard slot on RTร 2 in May/June and loved it to pieces. I grabbed the DVD as soon as it came out and have been watching it ever since. Sadly no extras on the Region 2 release though.
Napoleon Dynamite (2005)
This gets so much hate on the internet I wasn't sure whether to bother with it or not. I quite enjoyed it though, naysayers be dammed.

Urgh, I think I'm all Matrixed out. I haven't even watched this fully yet. But it was cheap and I hadn't seen it before so I picked it up anyway.
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
What? I liked it the first time I saw it and repeated viewings haven't changed that. It's stupid and juvenille, but that's how I roll.

The World Is Not Enough (1999)
Another exercise in VHS replacement. Not a bad Bond and some nice extras.
I ended up watching Batman Begins for the first time in the Summer and loving it and as I was quite eager to see TDK, this double pack seemed just the thing to pick up for Christmas viewing purposes.
I was kind of surprised that I ended up preferring Batman Begins in the end. Heath Ledger was great as The Joker, but I just wasn't as bowled over by the rest of the film as everyone else seemed to be. Maybe I should give it another chance before passing a final judgement on it.

After watching Season 1 of Pushing Daisies again in December, I decided to seek out some of Bryan Fuller's earlier work. I started off by cheekily watching all of Wonderfalls on YouTube - a fun little comedy-drama about an under-achieving gift store clerk coerced into doing good deeds by a variety of talking animal trinkets.
Discovering that Fox never bothered to give it a Region 2 release, I ended up buying a copy of the US box set from an eBay seller.

Firefly (2003)
My last DVD purchase of the year. I nabbed this for about โฌ12 in Amazon's Christmas sale and had it drop through the letterbox on New Year's Eve. I've had no exposure to Joss Whedon's work before, and I was never much of a Sci-Fi fan, but I absolutely adore this - wonderful dialogue, great characters and it's just a ton of fun.
Plus, Jewel Staite is the cutest thing ever.
