Barbéy’s pieces find their inspiration through his many years of travel and a healthy appreciation for artists like Rene Magritte, M.C. Escher or Roger Dean. Much in the way the movie Inception featured a realistic film style while presenting us with highly unusual visuals, his black and white works play with scale and perspective in ways which twist reality without distorting its individual elements so far from reality that we can no longer identify with them.
