As Francis Ford Coppola once said..."Ths isn't a film about Viet Nam, this IS Viet Nam.". An experience. The Full Disclosure Edition also comes with Heart of Darkness: A Filmaker's Apocalypse a documentary about the making of Apocalypse Now. Almost as compelling as the movie itself.

Alien Anthology [6 Disc Set] (1979)
While the first 2 movies are far and away the best of the bunch (although I do have an affinity for what Fincher tried to do in 3), the reason to get the box set is for the 60+ hours of background information on the making of the films. Truly facinating stuff.

Ridley Scott gave us something in 1982 that the movie viewing public just wasn't ready for. Today we see it for what it is: Science Fiction of the highest order. The 5 Disc is the keeper so you can see all the versions the film has been in.

One of my best Christmas' ever was spent watching all 3 Bourne movies back to back to back while cooking my turkey dinner. Great stuff.

Batman done right, with a Joker performance by Heath Ledger that leaves Jack Nicholson's camp in the dust. Christopher Nolan in THE Man.

Science Fiction makes a grand return in the fantastic District 9. Just see it.

An Oscar worthy performance from George Clooney is just one of the reasons to see Michael Clayton. In fact, everyone is on point in this movie, and maybe none more so than Sydney Pollack. A fantastic, overlooked movie.

Seven [US Import] (1995)
Seven is David Fincher's great leap forward. And Brad Pitt gives a (mostly) solid performance. But Morgan Freeman is the glue in this excellent, dark thriller.

The Thing (2008)
The Thing makes the list because it, along with Alien, were THE science fiction movies that kick started my love of the genre....Star Wars be damned!

Unforgiven (2006)
After growing up on Clint Eastwood westerns, the final chapter is written. A slow burn of a western, but a great movie.
